Course Coordinator - Animal Care

Passionate about animal care education? Join our Animal Studies team as our Course Coordinator Animal Care and play a hands-on role in supporting quality VET course delivery and student outcomes.

The Course Coordinator Animal Care is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day delivery of Animal Care programs within the Science and Animal Studies team. This role focuses on ensuring quality teaching, assessment and student outcomes in a VET education environment, while managing course operations, compliance and learner experience across assigned programs. Working closely with educators and internal stakeholders, the coordinator supports effective program delivery and contributes to a positive and well organised teaching and learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of course delivery and student concerns within the Animal Care program area
• Participate in and ensure quality teaching delivery and assessment
• Oversee and support educators to create a positive teaching and learning environment
• Coordinate course delivery planning, timetabling and resource allocation within allocated budgets
• Manage student experience, retention, enquiries and complaints in line with policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and contractual requirements across teaching and assessment
• Participate in moderation, validation and continuous improvement processes
• Contribute to reporting, audits, compliance and performance requirements
• Develop, maintain and review teaching and assessment resources
• Participate in industry, community and stakeholder engagement activities related to program delivery
• Teach as required, up to agreed teaching loads

About You

• Demonstrated skills and experience in VET teaching and course coordination
• Understanding of VET policy, compliance and quality frameworks
• Ability to support and oversee educators in teaching and assessment activities
• Capability to manage course operations, documentation and reporting requirements
• Strong communication and organisational skills within an education environment

Qualifications / Requirements

• Approved AQF Level 5 qualification or above
• Relevant vocational qualification aligned to Animal Care programs
• Current training and assessment qualifications as required by Training Packages
• Ability to maintain vocational and educator currency
• Compliance with child safety requirements and Institute policies
